DAVE PINK'S
1953 CHAMPION

I purchased my 1953 Champion sedan in 1995 after a 20 years break from the club and Studebakers. It was a going car, but in much need of a little TLC. The restoration started out as a mechanical upgrade, with the engine, front end, brakes and suspension all being rebuilt or replaced.

In March 2000 I decided to take the car off the road for 3 months and give it a new coat of paint. The body was bead blastered which revealed a lot more rust in the guards than I originally thought there was, a new front left guard had to be made out of a few old guards as it was badly rusted away.

18 months later the car was finally put back together and was put on club registration.
It has proven to be very reliable and I have done many miles since. I don't think that the restoration is quite finished yet, more a work in progress

1925 TOURER

I seen the Tourer advertised in Unique Cars Magazine in Renmark, South Australia on January 1997. It was an older amateur restoration that was never really finished.
After negotiating a price over the phone I drove up to Renmark, purchased the car and trailed it home.

The engine and diff had to be removed and rebuilt. The engine bay and underside had to be detailed and a few missing parts and accessories had to be located to complete the car. The wooden spoke wheels had to be pulled to pieces and restored.

The body work was in pretty good condition, which only needed minor touching up.
It is fun to drive, but not to far.
